Haha...there are lots of similarities with rock and hip hop. Somebody influential to me that I can think of that does both is Block McCloud.
Jedi Mind Tricks also do rock aside from hip hop. They mostly blend them. I'd do both if I could lol. All hip hop is equal in a way...just the way they present themselves that's different. You gotta understand Hip Hop very well to get any of this lol. People are always going to criticise hip hop no matter what though...you can't get rid of people like that, cuz every generation will carry people like that. =]

emo =/= death metal
trust me
emo = 1 chord being repeated with whining over it
death metal (as far as i remember) = screaming + grunts over an insane guitar/drum combo. much more energetic, musical and talented

I don't like linkin park much anymore... However, RHCP are the best mother fuckers out there today. They're bassist "Flea" is the best bass player in the world (at the moment), hands down. RHCP also has a funk side, (funk=up-beat rappish and quick guitar 7th chords) listen to songs like "Funky Monks" or "Give it Away". Some people say that Limp Bizkit are heavy metal rap but Fred Durst can't rap fo' shit. I wish rap and rock would mix together more and do songs with each other. And look, White people can rap just as good as black people so I don't understanbd the point of this thread. White rockers even ake more drugs than rappers do, Have you seen Steve Tyler or George Harrison? They we're drug gods; cocaine here, heroin there. I think that rockers actually take more hardcore drugs like LSD or heroin unlike rappers who are just about the weed, crack and shrooms.

gettin back sort of on the topic, yes alot of white people hate rap but its also the white suburban kids that are buying the mainstream rap cd's, they outnumber sales in alot of areas. And in the end it's just ignorance people who literally "hate" rap will always. Once they hear one they dont like then OFCOURSE there all the same!.... no.... but thats how they think whether they know it or not.

As a white person who likes rap but has seen both ends of the spectrum, I would have to say that most white people dont like rap for one of three reasons:
1. it isnt soothing. people in this category also dont listen to rock other than light rock
2. they cant relate to it. most would be in this category. They havent been through the things theyre talking about, etc. But people in this category may have never listened to anything but the usual sex/drugs/gangs crap mainstream rappers talk about.
3. they dont think they should because theyre white. these are the ignorant dumbasses.
I personally used to be in the #2 category before I actually gave it a chance. I never heard anything but 50 Cent type of stuff before I started listening to Eminem...and then from Eminem it went to nas, and then tupac, and eventually there was a larger variety of artists who I liked.
