Here's my latest one, scanned it in a few minutes ago. I'll just copy my Facebook description of it to save some time: Another Sharpie picture, this one's even more abstract then the Gorilla Tongue picture (and that big thing in the back with the red coat is supposed to be Gorilla Tongue, kinda got cut off). Anyways, yeah, that quote is from the rapper "J-Live" off the song Timeless. I heard it while I was drawing this, got it stuck in my head so I threw it in.
Your mother is hot.

I have a 24 Pack of sharpies; with a pack that big it gives you like colors that are a bit darker and lighter, thus making it easier to shade. However, my Grey marker is slowly drying out, so now when I put it down it comes out very grainy and light. So on the areas I want shaded (this only works for specific things) I apply it to the areas I want darkened. At that point it'll look grainy and not aesthetically pleasing, so I use the initial marker I colored with and apply pressure on the grey and start coloring over the area's were I want the darkness of the grey to fade out a bit. And then I gently color over the darker grey and let it dry. This will spread the color's around on the actual paper and looks like you almost painted it.
An alternate way of shading, is granted you have the 24 pack (or more) in my case, and you have same color's just slightly darker then you apply the darker color to the area you already colored over with the similiar color and then at the edges of were you used the darker color use the original color and try to press down and spread it out a bit. This'll make it look more natural as it seems as if the darkness is kind of "fading" as in real life. Lol Keep in mind though, this won't work nearly as well if you're not doing that technique when the other color's are dry, so try to do it fairly soon after you've applied the darker tones.
