I noticed one of the advertisements on this page is of a site called "Black world" Now in my opinion, that's bass akwards thinking. I understand that in many parts of our country minority's are treated with inequity, and that being the case there is a necessity for said persons to take a more aggressive approach to achieving the respect and opportunities of which we all as Americans deserve. The sh!t that upperclass White America does to berate people of color is despicable to say the least, but since when is it productive to adopt an "us against them" type of perspective? to me, thats racist. {{Oh, and just to clear things up for the honky hatin' idiots who will most likely respond vehemently to this post, I AM of European/Native American descent. I also was an orphan adopted at birth by a black man and white woman, and either one of my parents would have told you that such perspectives are entirely counterproductive.}}
anyway, for those of you who are of sound reason and judgemnt: can somebody please explain to me what is considered racism nowday?

Never seen the add as my firefox adblocks them, but interesting post. I think you've got a very valid point about the "us against them" attitude, and certainly conveyed it eloquently, but then as a counterpoint, me having not seen this ad and not knowing what it looks like/how the message is conveyed, is there anything wrong with wanting to appreciate your cultural inheritance? Just a thought as i lack time to go into depth about it. Also, race shouldn't really matter, but i get your point (Btw, if you can access google scholar, look for This article by Borofsky, it looks at - towards the end - this whole issue of who's fit to speak on what)

Those are some funny ass clips. Family Guy, in particular, does a bang up job of poking fun at the stupidity of racism. Not many shows have the balls to nakedly display the absolute hilarity of these perspectives. But more to the point, sometimes I wonder what painful social ramifications would be seen if there were bold and ignorant organizations/companies that existed solely to improve the lives of white people. I mean can you imagine it? C.E.T -- Caucasian Entertainment Television or what if a clothing company made lines of clothes that stated that they they were made for whites by whites, like fubu? I imagine we are all aware of Scholarship and Housing programs that exist for assisting students who are Oriental, African American, Latino, etc. Now imagine the anger it would arouse if there were programs established that stated bluntly that they offer financial assistance to whites only. Racism is still very much alive, there are upper class whites in positions of power every where who make it a point to big up their "own kind" first and foremost, I would be foolish to turn a blind eye to that, but my point is this: Ignorance and prejudice are still just that, ignorance and prejudice. Even if they do have good intentions. Its just not PC to be ignorant and prejudice if your not a minority, if you are a minority I guess you get a free pass. Martin Luther King never promoted superiority, he promoted equality.
