I know this has been brought up about a million times now, but I just couldn't resist! I like how its okay for black people to talk shit to the white people... but white people get shunned when they try to ante up ^^The truth! Now, most of you think it's wrong for white people to diss back racism against black people becuz of ancient issues (black slavery)! The thing is, hasnt that all been forgotten? And I mean, if it hasnt been forgotten, why do black people still go at it? I mean, are they enjoying using the fact that their ancestors were enslaved, so they can have the upper advantage in these issues? First off, if you do not wanna be reminded on these issues, dont start! Now, black people are not the only ones in this issue! Many white cults, (eg: Klu Klux Klan, Skinheads) still are active and still bring down the black community! These two facts do not help our society to evolve into a higher level of Humanity and Peace! Those issues will never be forgotten, but at least I think there should be a drop of forgiveness in the middle! But I still look forward your opinions!

I'd like to say thanks to the black slaves...
The shirt I am wearing is made of cotton thanks slaves that toiled away fruitlessly to get me my cotton for this shirt I can wear this shirt knowning I made a differnece towards the way racism is shaped today - Like an awfully reatrded Circle that resembles a square. I mean, really if a white perosn sinks so low AND uncreative as to go into thier cultural background, they should get a swift clasping handcup to the bollocks and ofc vise-versa. ofc, i'm only joking, I think white people should get anyway with it.
jks ofc.

Nah, the thing is it hasn't been all forgotten. I think it's kinda wrong for you to say they were 'enjoying' it because no likes living with the knowledge of the cruel things that happened to loved ones, Bad choice of words. Your opinion is very justifiable.
I will say this though. Black people want to be treated equal but they don't even treat themselves equally when they put themselves on a moral higher ground than whites (i.e. in hip hop) in certain cases. They still wanna be able to call a white guy 'cracker' or 'coon' and when their called "Nigga" its a morally evil thing to do. They wanna protest n say shit like "Black power" .. ok then what's wrong with a White guy being proud of his color and wanting to opress you. When you say 'Black power' your trying to accomplish the same thing. Some Blacks need to look at what they argue b/c their beliefs are contradictory. You wanna be treated equal but often your just trying to put yourself above another race.

It's funny you mention this... because congress just recently apologized for slavery/Jim Crowe laws(LINK: www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93059465&ft=1&f=46), and I'm hearing alot of black folks who aren't "Accepting" the apology! I've even heard absurd things like: "Rev. Al Sharpton isn't supporting Obama because he doesn't WANT a black president, He'd rather have that to say the whites won't let them have."

I'd just like to point out that I'm of DIRECT african decent. No slaves in my background, so i'm never gonna pull that "boo hoo u slaved my great gramps" BS. I take offence to racsim, and to being classed with ignorant niggers/niggas/nigguhs/nikkas/nukkas/whatever gay slang u wanna make for it. I was never and will never be that, so i ain't about to be put in that class.
I'm 50/50, Irish/Ghanian, so i'll take offense to EITHER side u know, but word. Shit is fucked up that whites get the harsh end of the racial pole. Cats needa realise that equality means that you're a prick too.

if you see a black person you don't know and feel insecure from stereotypes, that's your problem, but you're not hip-hop if you think from a racist point of view

^Who said they feel that way? Everyone thinks from a 'race' point of you, it's human nature. Hip hop pioneers and heavy weights often believe that a majority of record sales are from suburban white kids, now, since their talking about things from a race point of view and stereotyping when they convey the message that kid's in white suburbs are the ones buying the most hip hop, does that not make THEM Hip Hop? It's not right to avoid it, there's just right and wrong way's of approaching it.

So KRS-One isn't hip hop? Go figure..

Post by detox on Aug 6, 2008 23:53:07 GMT
there's a difference from looking at a point of view of a race than thinking in a racist point of view, saying that suburban white kids buy the most rap albums isn't stereotyping, saying all black people are criminals is stereotyping and being racist, and KRS-one, in that specific verse, is trying to bring the racism to an end, by showing how rediculous some racism is, so in no way is he being racist in that verse.

lmao @ at all this "YOU AIN'T HIP HOP!!" stuff. that phrase sounds mad lame and whiny, no matter what context. How is it whiny?? It's simply stating that hip-hop transcends race, the hip-hop movement is all about the peace and bringing together of all others who love hip-hop, despite race, mentality, political beliefs, or where you're from. So yes, being racist is definitely not hip-hop.
